Further to our previous article, Amazon (AMZN.us) announced yesterday that it will sell vehicles online from 2024. The first brand to be offered will be Hyundai, which named Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its preferred cloud-computing provider for online sales.
Jaehoon Chang, Hyundai's CEO said that "Amazon is the ideal partner to help realize our vision of progress for humanity, including improving how people and goods move more efficiently and sustainably."
Buyers will be able to browse Amazon's website and see which cars are offered by nearby dealerships. They can conveniently complete their purchase online and decide whether they want the vehicle delivered straight to their location or sent to the nearby dealership for pick-up.
