What Is Market Volume?
Market volume is the amount of shares of a given stock or commodity that changes hands in a market.
Volume is a way to measure the moves of market events. Often, the larger the volume, the more significant the move. Volume can be broken down to single securities, like stocks and commodities, or measured in broader markets.
