FXCM offers clients the ability to open FXCM Standard Accounts in the following non-US Dollar currencies: EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, or NZD. You can choose to open an FXCM Standard account in any currency you wish, even if you don't live in that country.
What are the practical implications of having a non-US Dollar Account?
- Deposits and Withdrawals will be transacted in the currency in which the account is denominated.
- All account information, such as P/L, Margin, and Account Equity will shown in the currency denomination of the account.
- Account Equity will be held in the currency denomination of the account.
Why open a Non-USD account?
European, Asian, Australian, Canadian, and New Zealand clients do not have to convert currency into US dollars to trade with FXCM. The cost of currency conversion can be quite high. By opening an account in your native currency, you can save hundreds of dollars, pounds, euros, or thousands of yen. Also, in some countries, FXCM has an account for receiving non-USD deposits which may decrease the lag between sending funds and having them deposited into your FXCM account.
